Proxy Service
HCC allows access to databases from off-campus using a proxy server. The proxy server allows you to access library subscription databases by authenticating that you are a valid and active HCC Library patron. To use this service read "How it Works". The proxy service will only be used for domain restricted Library databases. All other browser transactions will occur using your normal Internet settings.
How it Works
Users must obtain a valid and active HCC Student ID by contacting HCC Student Services. On your Student ID Card is a barcode. This barcode serves as your Library card. When you select a Library Resource such as MnPALS or an "Online Resource" (subscription database), you will be prompted to enter your Username (HCC Library barcode) and Password (last name). Once you have logged in, you will be able to use the Library subscription resources freely as though you were on campus.
