Clubs & Organizations
Engineering and Science Club
Students interested in careers in science and engineering have the opportunity to work on advanced projects, tour industrial sites locally and regionally, visit four-year universities in the region, and be involved in community support activities. The physics lab area is also a “home base” for students while on campus. Some activities are in cooperation with Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in Virginia.
Honors Society (Phi Theta Kappa)
The national honors society for community college students, Phi Theta Kappa, recognizes students who maintain a high academic standing and who have demonstrated leadership and service learning in the college and community. Students who have maintained a 3.35 GPA after earning 12 credits are invited to become members.
Student Government/Student Senate
The Student Senate is responsible for coordinating social life at the college, and presenting student concerns to the administration. Along with other student committees, the senate provides opportunities for student involvement on campus.
Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA)
SkillsUSA-VICA is a national organization serving more than 250,000 high school, college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations. Members may participate in state skills competitions, and the winner advances to the national competition.
Towards a Sustainable Campus (TASC)
Towards a Sustainable Campus is a student organization whose mission it is to work in collaboration with the HCC Green Team to raise awareness and advocate for greater sustainability on campus and in the community.
