Sheldon wins MCAC State And Region 13 Tournament

     Jessica Sheldon won the medalist honors at the MCAC State and Region XIII Tournament held in Brainerd, Mn at The Legacey Oct. 5-6.  Sheldon shot an 87 on the first day theat held up with the rain and cancellation of play for day 2.  She has qualified to participate in the NJCAA Women's National Golf Tournament May 18-21, 2010 at the LPGA International Course in Daytona Beach, FL.  Jessica has won every tournament she has entered this fall. The National Tournament is one division which means she will be competing against scholarships golfers from across the country at the NJCAA level.  This will be a return trip to the National Tournament for Jessica who participated last year and tied for 47th in the country.

    On the men's side the team shot 370 for 7th place.  Dustin Pleshe shot an 83 which put him one shot back from qualifying for the National Tournament.  Ryan Hanegmon had an 89, Jason Radmonovich 96, Anthony Oddo 102, and Tyler Chrysler 108. 

HCC takes 2nd at Ridgewater Tournament

     The HCC Men's Golf Team placed 2nd at the Ridgewater College Tournament on Sept. 30 in Spicer, MN.  Fergus Falls won the event with a team score of 340, Hibbing was 2nd with 382, and MN West was 3rd at 405.  Ridgewater did not field a full team to count in the team standings.  Dustin Pleshe was the top Hibbing golfer carding an 89.  Also scoring for Hibbing were Jason Radmonovich 96, Jered Bridges 98, Anthony Oddo 99, and Tyler Chyrsler 103.

    The Cardinals will end their season with the MCAC State and Region 13 Tournaments Oct. 5 & 6 at the Legacy in Brainer, MN.

Sheldon continues to take top honors

     Jessica Sheldon won medalist honors on Monday, Sept. 21 at Cragun's Legacy Course in a tournament sponsored by Central Lakes College in Brainerd, MN.  Jessica shot an 89.  She has won all 4 tournaments she has participated in this season.

   The men shot a 409.  Scoring for Hibbing were: Ryan Hanegmon 94, Jason Radmanovicj 93, Anthony Oddo , Kyler Swalby 120.

   The Cardinals will be back in action on Wed., Sept. 30 when they travel to Willmar, MN for a tournament at Eagle Creek Golf Course.

Sheldon takes Meadlist honors again

    The lone female golfer for HCC once again was the medalist  this time at the MN State Golf Tournament in Fergus Falls, MN Sept. 20.  Jessica Sheldon shot an 83 to capture first place.  She has been the medalist in all three meets so far this season.

   The Men's Team placed thrid in the tournament shooting a 361.  Ryan Hanegmon posted the top score for the Cardinals with an 85.  Others scoring for the Cardinals were:  Anthony Oddo 88, Jason Radmanovich 88, Skyler Swalby 100.

     The Cardinals will be in Brainerd, MN on Monday, Sept. 21 for a meet at Craguns Golf Course.

HCC wins own Invitational

   The HCC Golf Team hosted MN State - Fergus Falls and Ridgewater College on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Mesaba Country Club.  Jessica Sheldon took medalist honors for the women shooting an 86.  Dustin Pleshe took medalist honors for the men with an 81.  HCC and MN State tied for the men's team chanpionship at 352 but Hibbing won on the tie-breaker.

    Scoring for Hibbinging were: Dustin Pleshe 81, Ryan Hanegmon 92, Anthony Oddo 95, Tyler Chrysler 84, and Kyler Swalby 106.

     The Cardinals will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Fergus Falls for a Sunday meet at Pebble Creek Golf Course and Monday in Brainerd, MN for a meet at Craguns Golf Course. 

HCC Golf opens season

     The HCC Golf Team opened their 2009 season by participating in the Central Lakes College Tournament at Ruttgers Bay in Brainerd, MN.   The Men's Team scored 399 to take 4th place behin Century College, Rochester CTC, and MN State CC.  Scoring for the men: Dustin Pleshe 89, Ryan Hanegmon 99, Anthony Oddo 104, Kyler Swalby 107.

    Jessica Sheldon won medalist honors for the women carding an 86. 

   The Cardinals will be hosting their own Invitational Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 15 starting at 1 pm.

New Coach

   Matt Johnson has been named the Golf Coach for HCC.  He replaces Mint Harris who re-started the program and led it for 9 years.  Matt is also the head Men's Basketball Coach for HCC.
