Troy Klingsporn was named MCAC Northern Division men's basketball player of the week. Troy led HCC to a pair of wins that clinched a playoff spot for the Cardinals. He averaged 16 ppg, 7 rpg. and 7apg. in the two victories. He shot 56% from the field including 4 3 pointers. He is a sophomore from Oakdale, MN.

Amber Zapata was named MCAC Northern Division women's basketball player of the week. Amber averaged 20.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg in two division games this past week. Amber shot 47% from the field and also averaged 2 apg and 2 spg as well. She is a freshman form Orr, MN.

Manani Bevers was named MCAC Northern Division player of the week. He averaged 26 ppg and 14.5 rpg as Hibbing swept a pair of Northern Division opponents this past week. Beavers poured in 36 points in a key 77-75 win vs Rainy River. He is a sophomore from Minneapolis, MN.

The following student athletes were named to the All-Region teams. Jessie LaValley, a sophomore from Tower, MN was named to the All-Region team for Volleyball this season. Zach Morehouse and John Rue were named to the All-Region team for Men's Golf. Both Zach and John are freshmen from Hibbing.

Courtney Wirtanen and Jessie LaValley were named to the MCAC All North Division Volleyball team for their efforts this past season. Courtney is a freshman from Hibbing and Jessie is a sophomore from Tower. Congratulations ladies on fine performances this season.

Courtney Wirtanen and Jessie LaValley were named Libero and All-Around Player of the week respectively. Courtney finished the season with 28 digs in a hard fought loss to Rainy River. She is a freshman from Hibbing. Jessie recorded 15 kills, 23 digs and 3 blocks in the loss to Rainy River. Jessie is a sophomore from Tower, MN

Jessie LaValley was named MCAC Northern Division All-Around Player of the Week. Jessie had a solid week as they won two of three conference matches. She had 26 kills, 34 digs, 7 blocks 2 assists and 2 services aces. Jessie is a sophomore from Tower, MN.

For the third time this season Courtney Wirtanen has been named the MCAC Northern Division Libero of the week. She currently leads the division in digs with 332 on the season thus far. This past week in 4 games she racked up 98 digs. She is a freshman from Hibbing, MN.

Courtney Wirtanen a 5'6" freshman from Hibbing was named MCAC Libero of the week. Courtney had an outstanding week for the Cardinals. She had 86 digs and served at a 93% clip with 9 aces.

Kourtney Kruger and Rachael Smith for recieving the 2011-12 NJCAA Exemplary Academic Achievement Award. Kourtney graduated this spring with both an A.A. and A.F.A. degrees. She played Volleyball and Women's Basketball at HCC. She is from Nashwauk, MN. Rachael graduated with a degree in Medical Lab Technician. She played Softball for the Cardinals and she is from Meyronne, SK, Canada.

Whitney Finco, Jenna Massingill and Alia Cook were all named to the MCAC All-North Division first team for Softball. Rachael Smith was named to the MCAC All-North Division 2nd team. Finco and Massingill were also named to the All State first team while Cook was named to the All State 2nd team.

Jesse Olson and Erik Paine were named to the MCAC All-North Division team for baseball. Olson was also named to the MCAC All State team as well.

Jenna Massingill and Whitney Finco, Jenna was named Northern Division Pitcher of the week. Jenna pitched all eight games last week going 6-2 with a 2.12 ERA. She struck out 52 in 47 innings of work. She is a freshman from Keewatin, MN.

Whitney was named the Northern Division Player of the week. She batted .555 (15-27) in her last 8 games. Her hits included 5 doubles and 1 homerun and she produced 12 RBI's from her leadoff spot. She is a sophomore shortstop from Hibbing, MN.

Erik Paine was named the Northern Division Player of the Week in Baseball this past week. Erik led the Cardinals at the plate with a .615 batting average with 3 doubles, 7 runs scored, 5 stolen bases and 4 walks in 6 games last week. He also pitched a complete game victory with 8 strikeouts in a 9-6 win over Central Lakes. Erik is a sophomore from Chisholm, MN.

Brittany Paige, Whitney Finco and Jenna Zmyslony were all named to the All-Northern Division team for women's basketball. Both Paige and Finco were also named to the All-State team. Congratulations to them on an outstanding season.

Handful Pour, Zak Mathson, Quintin Wagner and Marcus Nolan Jr. were all named to the All-Northern Division team for men's basketball. Handful Pour and Zak Mathson were also named to the All-State team. The Cardinal men finished in a tie for first place in the North Division this season. As a result Coach Matt Johnson was named Northern Division Coach of the Year.

Zak Mathson was named the Northern Division player of the week. Zak averaged 20 ppg and 12.5 rpg while shooting 68% from the field and 86% from the line. Zak is a sophomore from Cambridge, MN.

Handful Pour was named Northern Division player of the week. Handful averaged 23 ppg, 4rpg, 2.5 spg and 3apg this pas week as the Cardinals moved 6-1 in division play. Pour scored 31 points in a big road win at Mesabi Range this past week. He is a freshman from Minneapolis, MN.

Quintin Wagner was named Northern Division player of the week. Quintin averaged 10.5 ppg, 3rpg, 5 apg and 1.5 spg as Hibbing split a pair of division games this past week. Quintin is a freshman from St. Louis Park, MN.

Shaylon Fenstermaker was named Northern Division player of the week this past week. Shaylon averaged 15 points and 8.5 rebounds per game over the weekend. He also hit on 12 of 14 free throws. Shaylon is a sophomore from Burley, ID.

Zak Mathson was named Northern Division player of the week for this past week. Zak averaged 19 ppg and 13 rpg this past week. Zak is a Sophomore from Cambridge, MN.

Handful Pour, Shaylon Festermaker and Jenna Zmyslony were all named to the All-Tournament team this past weekend at the Gogebic CC basketball tournament. Jenna and Handful were also named Northern Division players of the week for their outstanding play over the past week.

Jenna was named MCAC All-North Division 1st team, All-State 2nd team and NJCAA All-Region 13B team. Jenna is a 5'8" outside hitter from Barnum, MN.
