British physicist G.P. Thomson delivers the MAUD report to the OSRD. Less than a week latter, on Oct. 9, Bush presents the results of the report to Roosevelt and V.P. Henry Wallace. The President instructs Bush to expedite the research and planning for a bomb in every possible way short of actual construction. When this had been done, the President would make the final decision to actually build the device. Around this time the final of the NAS reports is delivered corraborating the British MAUD report.
